Nodalpoint

nodalpoint's audience ?

Nodalpoint is approaching it's third year in operation. In fact nodalpoint has been around so long that it was a weblog before I really knew what a weblog was (or before weblogs were cool for that matter).

Nodalpoint is still a fun side project for me, and now it may even be getting a little serious attention since I'll be introducing the site at BOSC this year. However I'm curious to find out a little bit about nodalpoint's audience ? Nothing personal of course, just some details of maybe your research (if that's what you do) or why you find bioinformatics interesting etc. So if you feel inclined to share please add your details as a comment to this post...

Get voting

Now that we have PubMed submissions running again, I encourage you to log in and get moderating. I also encourage you not to score "0" (in fact I think we should remove this option). Come on, you either like it or you don't!

(btw, where are the references that are moderated up going? Not to the front page apparently).
edit: Ah, now they are?

Pubmed module is back

I doubt many will have noticed but I have made a few minor changes to the nodalpoint pubmed integration module. Specifically I have upgraded to the new EUtilities interfaces.

PubMed browser

Some people may be unaware that there is a new link at the bottom of each article citation which takes you to the PubMed Browser. Your search will start with the focus on the article whose citation you linked in from.

PITA domain name registrars

Just a quick post to let you all know that I am having dificulty with my domain name registrar and the renewal of nodalpoint.org. The *&%$kers will not process my credit card for reasons that remain a mystery to me.

They just sent another email informing me that DNS will shut down five days after the expiery data (2/7/02) and would I like to renew my domain ? Why yes of course I would like to renew my domain ! That is why I have been emailing you for the last three days, ffs.

So nodal DNS my go off the air for a few days until I get this sorted out. Since we use name based virtual hosting I can't even point you to the server IP. I'll figure something out...

Update by Neil 11-7-02-As you see, we're back online, for another year at least.

nodalpoint.org webservices

Regular readers will have noticed some major changes over the last few weeks to nodalpoint.org. What follows is quick summary and guide to some of the changes to the site. I am working towards gradual improvements and not major changes from now on.
